タンザナイトの特徴の一つは多色性。光源や見る角度によって、透明感のあるブルーからバイオレットまで様々に色を変化させるのです。
じつは、非常に希少性が高く、ダイヤモンドの数十倍とも言われます。というのも、現状ではタンザニアの鉱山一ヵ所からしか産出されないためです。
