iteは石という意味のラテン語。ロードライトやクンツァイト、アマゾナイトなど、よく目にする石の名前の最後についている接尾語です。Hyalは、ガラスを意味するギリシャ語が語源なのだそう。
このハイアライトオパールは、写真のように、とても珍しい特徴を持っています。紫外線に当たると、鮮やかなグリーンに蛍光するのです。
そう、このピアスは、夏の太陽に当たると、ほのかなグリーンに変化するのです。室内に入ると、無色透明に早変わり。カラーチェンジも楽しめる、おしゃれで美しいお石なのです！
