パライバトルマリン・パパラチャサファイアとともに、世界三大希少石と言われるアレキサンドライト。（ラボグロウ）
アレキサンドライトは、クリソベリルという石の変種。発見されたのはロシアのエメラルド採掘現場でした。
当初はエメラルドだと認識されていましたが、夜の灯火の元では赤紫に見えるカラーチェンジが鮮やかすぎるということで、皇帝に献上されます。その日が皇太子アレクサンドル2世の誕生日だったために、この名がつけられたということです。
ラボグロウンのアレキが生まれたのは1975年。世界的に流通していくことになります。ただし、ラボと言っても、ちゃんとカラーチェンジする石は少ないのです。こちらのラボアレキは、かなりはっきりと、ブルーグリーンからレディッシュパープルに色変わりする美しいお石。
太陽光ではグリーンに、白熱灯の下ではすみれ色に変化していくという、おしゃれさん御用達のピアスを是非どうぞ。
