The brilliantly shining greenis a heart throbber.別名グリーンガーネット。非常に多くの色を産出するガーネット一族の中でも、ツァボライトは人気の石と言えるでしょう。その名がつけられたのはかなり新しく、1973年のこと。産地のひとつであるツァボ国立公園から当時のティファニーのトップによって商品名として呼ばれました。
鑑定などで使用される宝石名はグリーン・グロッシュラーガーネットですが、ツァボライトの方が一般的になりました。
